Engineer by Education, Entrepreneur by Passion

I always have a passion in entrepreneurship. At the age of 7, I was taught to fold paper cranes, by my beloved uncle, during a family gathering. My uncle just wanted to spend some quality time with me, but I saw it as a business opportunity. Without any instructions from any adults in the family, I started to make paper cranes in school the next day, and sold them for $0.50 each (note that this was in the early 2000s). When I got home, with my wallet full of coins, I got reprimanded by my mother. She thought that I had stolen pocket money from the rest of my classmates. When I explained myself, my family members burst out with laughter. Being a businesswomen herself, my mother realized I had the qualities of an entrepreneur, but because she came from a humble and conservative background herself, I was advised to take on the ”standard” education route in Singapore.
